Caring for Your Knits

To extend the life of your fortuknit purchases, we recommend caring for your knits like you care for yourself—with lots of love. Knits should be washed gentle cycle or handwashed only with detergent meant for the delicates you cherish most. We recommend line drying, air drying, or laying flat to dry.

Head over to our Shop to fill your bag with Soak products. Soak is the modern way to clean and refresh the laundry you love. Its gentle, no-rinse (or quick-rinse) formulation is perfect for hand- or machine-washing your laciest lingerie, softest sweaters, swimwear, active wear and even baby clothes.

Quick-rinse means low suds. Dirt and oils are trapped in the water and pulled away from your garment. No residue left behind, no endless rinsing. Made with plant derived and renewable ingredients, Soak is as gentle on the planet as it is on your clothes.

Instructions:

Hand wash - Pour 1 tsp of Soak into cool water. Soak item for 15 minutes then gently squeeze out water. No need to rinse; although you can if you like, it won’t change a thing. Lay knit items flat to dry. Wash sets (like socks) together.

Machine wash (HE safe) - Use the delicate cycle and measure Soak based on your machine's instructions. You can either use or skip the rinse cycle, depending on what you are washing.

Spot clean - We recommend using Soak on the end of a cotton swab. Gently rub the dirt/stain and then rinse with water. Special note: Bistro cushions and handbags should be spot cleaned only.
