The Value of Giving Back
From childhood, fortuknit Chief Creative Officer Mallorie Medley was taught the values of service and giving back,
and the importance of community.
Her mother, fondly known as Mazelline, exemplified what it means to give from the heart—whether tangible gifts,
or gifts of time and love.
“Maz” is the reason fortuknit was founded. It was she who gave Mallorie her first set of knitting needles and yarn and planted a seed within her at a very young age. But Maz wasn’t just the inspiration for fortuknit. She impacted the lives of everyone she met. Though Mazelline is no longer with us, the legacy of her love, strength,
and sound values lives on.
fortuknit continues Mazelline’s spirit of giving and honors her legacy by allocating a portion of all sales toward providing support for communities in need.

Mallorie kicks off the St. Jude Knit & Fundraise Challenge!
March 2023 donations went toward St. Jude’s Knitting & Fundraise Challenge. Chief Creative Officer, Mallorie, accepted the Knitting Challenge for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and your contributions helped continue the St. Jude mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® At the end of April, there will be one lucky winner selected from everyone who donated. And the winner can sport their fortuknit find with pride knowing it was for a great cause. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened 60 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries we make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
